Johnny Depp & Amber Heard Trial Will Be Adapted Into A Movie

The highly publicized defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is being turned into a movie called Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial.

They initially got to know one another while filming The Rum Diary in 2011.  The couple was hitched in 2015, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2017.

Heard accused Depp of domestic abuse in 2018 without specifically naming him, which he claimed had a bad impact on his career.

The actor was prevented from reprising as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Depp sued Heard for $50 million in compensation. Heard filed a countersuit, seeking $100 million, claiming that she was the victim of injustice.

As the proceedings were broadcast on television, the trial of the two swiftly turned into a media circus that received daily attention.

Depp earned $15 million from the jury—later lowered to $10 million—while Heard was given $2 million.
